Application Fee Waiver
Take advantage of free application! Service members (active-duty, guard, and reserve) and veterans applying to Penn State-undergraduate degree program can apply without being charged an application fee.

SAT/ACT Waiver
No test scores are required for undergraduate admission. You might be intimidated by the thought of returning to school. Don’t let the additional pressure of a standardized test hold you back. Military students are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of the admissions process.

Credit for Military Experience & Training
Get college credit for your military experience. Veterans and servicemembers who are students may be eligible to earn Penn State credit for military training, educational experiences, and/or experience in a military career specialty.

Dedicated VA Certifying Officials
We simplify the benefits certification process. Every Penn State campus, in-person or online, has its own VA Certifying Official. Some campuses have several officials. This level of service means that your benefits can be disbursed easily, leaving you to focus on your courses.

Priority Course Registration
Enroll in the classes you need. Veterans, service members, and reservists are eligible to enroll for courses before the general student population. Priority registration means that you can stay on track for timely graduation.

Military Leave of Absence
We’re responsive to the demands of military service. We have policies that support the demands of military service. If your military duty requires a short-term or long-term absence, we have policies in place to help.

Military Withdrawal Policy
We understand the need to be flexible. If active-duty service members receive orders to relocate or deploy, they or their spouse can receive a military withdrawal. No tuition will be charged for that semester. You can return to the same major and campus when you want to re-enroll, with no fees.

VA Work-Study
Earn additional money. Work up to 25 hours per week assisting other veteran students. Positions include peer counselor, veterans’ office assistant, and more.
